Not a lot of people talk about it nowadays and it seems that a cover letter might not be of use anymore. But think about it for a moment. The cover letter is a summary of you talking about your skills, achievements, experience and why you are the best person for the job in full sentences. It's like you are offering them a form of interview before you even get an interview. It's your competitive advantage.     The Cover Letter should be reviewed and edited to match each different Job that you are applying. You have to do the research in order to meet the requirements of the job and the company. The job description is the best place to start. Find the key points that they are looking for and start thinking which of these requirements you have gained from those experiences. From there on, carefully write them addressing the job and represent your skills so that they will be valuable to the employer.
